DeafNET’s 5th annual general meeting took place on 19 August 2017 with the theme: “Deafness is our business”. The welcoming address was done by Councillor Joyce Mei from Breede Valley Municipality.
The keynote speaker was Mr Keenan Bergins, General Manager from Golden Valley Casino. This was also an opportunity for the founder and previous chairperson Rev AL Smit to introduce the newly elected Chairperson of DeafNET’s Board of Trustees, Dr Patrick Smith.
