DeafNET, in partnership with De la Bat School for the Deaf in Worcester, South Africa, trained 4 educators from L’ecole pour Deficients Auditifs de L’hippodrome, Mali, Formation Professionnelle des Jeunes Sourds, Chad, CERSOM School for the Deaf, Cameroon and Village Bondego (DRC).

The workshop was held from 17 October – 18 November 2022, at De la Bat School for the Deaf, Worcester, South Africa. The method has proven to be particularly useful in raising the proficiency reading and writing levels of Deaf learners and improving their ability to express their emotions and thoughts, and thus their communication skills.

It is also the only programme currently available in South Africa, and it is innovative and ground-breaking in African Deaf schools.
